After the grape pomace has been collected at the processing facility, it goes through a number of steps before they end up with the oil. First, all impurities like stems, leaves, and miscellaneous debris must be removed. Once done, the seeds go through a cold press to extract the oils. Don’t worry about the material they removed: these go into products like natural fertilizer. Nothing goes to waste! In this process, the pomace is placed under high pressure. This extracts the oils without the addition of heat or chemicals. This leaves it with the majority of its natural antioxidants and fatty acids intact.
